Megan undertook her university studies at La Trobe University, Melbourne, specializing in Comparative Religions, Psycho-Analytical and Jungian Studies. She became involved for many years in theatre and sought to explore the relationship of body, voice, mythology and movement in the expression of her spirituality. Megan spent time with the Aboriginal people in Central Australia, where her abilities to use sound as a healing modality were nurtured and recognized by the women of the Walpiri tribe. Megan returned to New Zealand where she taught workshops on exploring voice and movement. She taught at the The New Zealand School of Natural Healing, The University of Waikato and also worked with private clients. Moving to the United States in 1999 Megan was employed at Prescott College for the Liberal Arts and Environment as a Voice Lecturer. Megan was also actively engaged in creating multi-media theatre performances, which included Sufi mystical poetry. She was constantly seeking to explore the spiritual and transformational process through the creative medium. In 2001 Megan was revisited by the spirit of the Carmelites and went to Avila, Spain to conduct research on her book, Falling into the Arms of God: Meditations with Teresa of Avila, which was awarded the $10,000 prestigious Mind, Body, Spirit Award from the PEN/Ashton Wylie Foundation in 2006. In 2007 Meghan began her numerous visits to Assisi, Italy, this time researching and walking in the footsteps of Clare of Assisi and Francis of Assisi. This culminated in Meghan's second book, Sacred Companions Sacred Community: Reflections with Clare of Assisi. Today, Megan is a Spiritual Director and Retreat Presenter and lectures and teaches workshops on the Mystical Pathway and the Divine Feminine. She has taught at Esalen Institute, California, Omega Institute, New York, and Kripalu Insititute, Massachusetts. She is also a frequent presenter at Unity and Episcopalian Churches in the United States. Megan also leads spiritual retreats and pilgrimages to sacred destinations in Europe. Megan's work is now also concentrating on the Celtic and Gnostic Traditions, the life and consciousness of Mary Magdalene, the Tree of Life and Kabbalah, and the Gnostic Gospels. She travels frequently to France and Ireland to further her explorations, which she looks forward to sharing. Megan divides her time between the United States and Europe. |
