FROM WAR TO PEACE

As often occurs in tragedy, the recent devastation in Haiti has brought forward some wonderful unifying factors as people from all over the world send supplies, assistance, and prayers. There is one action that has touched a deep hope within me, and that is where countries are using their warships to bring in medical teams and supplies. What a beautiful action for this world. What a great statement of moving from killing to caring. With more actions such as this on a global scale, maybe we can move from war to peace.

Metaphorically it also stands as a great lesson for us personally. What warships are we still using in our lives to “kill off” others, that is, where are we committing acts of violence, either in our thoughts or words? Are we still at war with those who we think are our enemies, or have we moved to care for those around us, even the troublesome ones?

Families are the perfect place to know what warships you are still sailing in. Old family dynamics often survive in hostile waters. And yet we have the power to dissolve these dynamics on an energetic level so that the water is not hostile. The warship can then be used to bring peace-filled conversation, or at least a spiritual medical team to help heal the situation! It is good to take care of one self, but perhaps a peace vessel can eventually replace the warship, as protection from the old is no longer necessary.

Many have found the entry into this New Year quite an intense experience.  Know you are not alone. Be steady in your Self, remember your divine sovereignty, and breathe deeply into this. All is unfolding according to your own divine plan.

The Celtic Tradition places great importance on the role of the feminine in its spirituality. This feminine quality is expressed through the Truth of Wisdom – a power present in the land itself, in the Mother Goddess, and embodied in a woman. We all, both women and men, need to marry this wisdom in order for right-relationship to be had, both with ourselves and with Mother Earth.

In this workshop we will explore what this Truth of Wisdom is, and how each one of us are called to uniquely live this in our daily lives. Using the Celtic inspirations of earth, sea, and sky, and otherworldly realms of existence, we will weave our way in and through myth, poetry, ancestral wisdom, ritual, and practical Celtic spiritual practice. We will use these practices to reveal our hidden truth, honor, and sovereignty.

We will also enter into the Holy Well, that is, through guided meditation and inner journeying, we will enter into the very womb of the Mother to know the healing and unifying powers of the feminine moistness and darkness, discovering what they offer to our world and to us today.

We will write, sing, dance, and honor our ancestors, the land, and our souls.

This workshop is suitable for all persons who want to connect more deeply with the land, the nature spirits, and their feminine self, and to learn a practical path of Celtic spirituality.
