JUNE 8-14, 2008:JOURNEYING INTO LOVE
A PILGRIMAGE TO ASSISI
(See Details Below)
The Fruit of the Spirit
“On the other hand the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control." Galatians 5:22
It is easy to think spiritual truths, it is easy to speak spiritual truths, and it is even easy to live these truths when our world is filled with ease and lightness. The challenge comes when we are called to live these truths in the face of obstacles, in the night of our deepest fears and anxieties, and when the mirror is being held before us showing us the darkness that still imprisons us.
It is a time of great emotional healing on our planet. Our society is dictated by many types of addictions; physical, emotional and even spiritual. And we are being asked to look deep within to see where our own addictions lie. Because these addictions were very often formed when we were children, often times inheriting them from our parents, we are mostly unconscious of their existence. The behavior that we elicit from these addictions are interpreted simply as "me." But of course, this is not who you are.
When your addiction is challenged you will feel your defensiveness rise, you will feel an unrest and a desire to blame the "other." The joy, peace, love, and the other fruits of the Spirit will noticably diminish, if not vanish. This is the time to reclaim your own self and power by owning your behavior, your addiction and the accompanying emotions, expressing but not reacting. It is a time of self-control. It is interesting that self-control is placed at the end of the nine fruits of the Spirit. In order to enter into true self-control we must be loving, gentle, kind, generous and faithful to ourselves. Self-control is not to be had through austere and regimented means, but by being lovingly patient with ourselves.
As we come into the time of the Epiphany, the time of "manifestation," "shining forth," and "revelation," may we all manifest the fruits of the Spirit in and towards our own souls. May we shine forth the true revelation of God within.
Peace to All
JOURNEYING INTO LOVE: ASSISI PILGRIMAGE & RETREAT
JUNE 8-14, 2008
This pilgrimage will focus on the teachings and life of Clare of Assisi. It will also include teachings from my new book on Sacred Companionship. We will learn about Clare and Francis and their most beautiful and extraordinary relationship, which was based on the spirit of sacred love. We will learn how we can incorporate this same love into our daily living with our various companions, whether intimate, friends, or healing connections. We have many companions on this earth.
We have the great honor to gather and meditate in a very sacred space right in Assisi, which is dedicated to all the world religions and contemplation. We also have exclusive use of a converted monastery, where we will all be staying. It is also right in Assisi and has a lovely little terrace that looks out over the valley. Very picturesque in the misty mornings. I feel blessed that I can offer these places to you.
"Above all, be lovers of your souls." Clare of Assisi
As we move forward on our journey we all need confirmation that we are walking in the right direction. Guided by the Spirit, these sessions support the unfolding of your journey and your own soul's needs. Using meditation, psycho-spiritual integration practices and compassionate listening, Megan facilitates bringing your soul more fully into its own wisdom and love.
Sliding Scale - $75-90 per hour
Personal Consultations, Sound Healing, and Voice Exploration Sessions are available for those in the Maine/Massachussets area or when Megan is traveling in your area.
It is in your power to live and die with this peace
- Teresa of Avila
