Fidelity to the Self

How faithful are we to our own selves? If we look at our daily lives where do we side-step honesty? A murmur here, a silence there, a denial of something which we know needs to be attended to. These can be simple and subtle situations, but ones which slowly erode the soul into misplaced submission and loss of our inherent godly power. Similarly, we may forego the regularity of our spiritual practice if it is not encouraged or joined by partners and friends, or if their needs dictate otherwise. The discipline of our own soul is a jewel in the making.
The word fidelity, meaning faithfulness and loyalty, is mostly used in association with another person. It is also defined however, as "conformity to truth." This brings fidelity back to the self. We are on this earth living in human form, and we are here to bring forward and to live the truth. How, and how often, are you living the depth of your existence as a human being in the reality of truth?
May we open ourselves wide and deep to humbly receive the truth in this human form, and may we faithfully love our own selves as God intends for us to be. We are the light in God's eye, may we allow ourselves to shine through Her eyes.
