Claiming Your Birthright
“Do not cling to me”
(Yeshua’s words to Mary Magdalene
Through his body of glory, or his resurrected body)
- John 20:17
Often these above words are translated as “Do not touch me,” which gives a very different interpretation and leads us down a very different path. They indicate unworthiness or uncleanness, whereas the words “do not cling to me,” speak of a mission yet to be completed.
This completion can be read in two ways: one, that Yeshua was still journeying on his mission and could not be held onto or clung to; and two, that Mary Magdalene needed to continue looking within her own self for her birthright of power, majesty, and mission. And, that she had within her what was needed to complete her own mission. It was a kindly rebuke from teacher and lover not to fall into dependency.
What in our lives are we clinging to? What do we not believe about our own inner power and birthright? We are given all that we require to fulfill our mission, and yet often we are clinging to others, whether it is friends, teachers, lovers, family, or even our own spiritual path in an unhealthy way. Are we claiming our majestic self or are we still on the merry-go-round of past experiences that have not been so merry?
My time in Southern France visiting the sites of Mary Magdalene was a powerful journey into a very fine vibration her vibration. She is a formidable example for us, demonstrating the capability we have as human beings on our evolutionary journey. We are far beyond who and what we know. My prayer is that we open the door to our majesty and our mystery.
May we cease to cling to whatever is hindering us and open to the body of glory that awaits us. May we bring light to our bodies now and prepare the way.
